BIOGRAPHY
Alexius Tschallener works in Hardstudios (Switzerland) as a composer of music in many genres and as a programmer of classical orchestral works. He has experience with both large orchestras and state-of-the-art sampling and recording technologies, and is able to offer a wide range of possibilities to meet the needs of his clients.

He is a lecturer in music for Film, Theatre and Media at the Zurich University of Arts (ZHdK) and specializes in the 'virtual orchestra'.
Since 2014 he is in the international jury of the "
Oticon's Faculty", a global contest for film music.

He grew up in a musical environment, and received his musical education in the subjects of piano and church organ. In the early 90’s he began to collaborate with the well-known eastern European conductor and composer
Jan Hrábek, with whom he produced several albums with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra in Prague.

Alexius Tschallener has taken part in the productions of many international classical artists, including Prof. Francisco Araiza (Mexico City Opera), Peter Lukas Graf (Switzerland), Noëmi Nadelman (Zurich Opera) and Javier Camarena (Metropolitan Opera, New York). His skills as composer, arranger and programmer have been in demand by many great Swiss acts, such as the Pepe Lienhard Orchestra, the Christoph Walter Orchestra. He is composing for digital and visual media and has garnered placements on many notable networks and shows including NBC, A&E (Criminal Minds, CSI: Miami), National Geographic, MTV, BBC (Top Gear) and many more. He produced many pop/classic crossover projects for Universal Music, Warner Music and Sony Music, among others with James Christian (House of Lords, Florida) and has also made a name as a composer and orchestrator in various projects, most recently on the album Children Beyond with Tina Turner. In 2014 he composed in collaboration with Rasmus Borowski the score of the BBC adventure series Teacup Travels (BBC/Plumfilms). The latest project is the score to the czech spy comedy Life is Life (Zivot je Zivot, CZ 2015 - Happy Celluloid / Flamesite).

The orchestra-library producer
“Vienna Symphonic Library” often commissions Alexius to incorporate his skills in the development and production of the latest orchestral libraries.

He has toured regularly in Europe with his two chamber-music ensembles for many years (Pop-Classic Act of the year 2006 in Germany). He has been collaborating with the composers/multi-instrumentalists Sandro Friedrich, Dominik Johnson and Martin Haene since 2011 with the objective of film-music composition and production. www.composers4film.com

On December 1, 2012 the world premiere of Alexius' suite for big orchestra was celebrated in the largest concert hall in Switzerland, (KKL Luzern). "Globi and the Pirate Island" - Suite for Orchestra, conducted by Marco Müller, composed and arranged by Alexius Tschallener.
